The steam trap is secured by steam, which can reach it before the condensate does. The ISFT 71 utilizes a needle valve to divert the steam, allowing for the removal of condensate. This evacuation process is managed by a float, while air is expelled through a thermostatic capsule located within the unit. This design effectively prevents water hammer in the pipeline by eliminating trapped air. Additionally, if the float fails for any reason, the thermostatic capsule activates to ensure the continuous discharge of condensate, preventing any blockage in the system.
